Mike Meroney, a successful public relations consultant and the head of Meroney Public Affairs in Austin, Texas, was a featured speaker, Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10-11 a.m., as part of the Arkansas State University Dr. Joel Gambill Distinguished Alumni Speaker series and Homecoming activities. Meroney is a native of Arkansas and earned a degree in communications from ASU in 1996.
He has worked as a journalist, staffer for a U.S. Senator in Washington, D.C., campaign staffer for a U.S. Congressional election in Arkansas, corporate public relations professional, government relations manager and lobbyist and public affairs consultant.
The College of Communications recently invited ASU journalism majors to their Annual Homecoming activities. From 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. RTV HD Studio official opening, 10-11 a.m. an alumni, Mike Meroney spoke to students around 2 o'clock. Also there was tailgating that was held in Red Wolves stadium and at 6 p.m. ASU went up against North Texas Texas on October 29, 2011.
